The Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution established by Shantou University (STU) and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology with independent legal status.
As the only Sino-foreign joint university focusing on science and technology, GTIIT is also the China Campus of the Technion located in Shantou, Guangdong province.
The Ministry of Education approved its formal establishment on December 5, 2016.
GTIIT is modeled on the Technion, an internationally known university of excellence, located in Haifa, Israel. GTIIT is the flagship program in the cooperation between China and Israel, and has been fully supported by the Guangdong Provincial Government, Shantou Municipal Government, and the Li Ka-Shing Foundation (LKSF).
The vision of GTIIT is to become a world-class international university, conducting cutting-edge research in the fields of science and technology. This research will boost entrepreneurship and technology transfer, and foster a high-tech industrial ecosystem in Shantou and the Guangdong Province.
The Research, Informatics & Graduate Studies Office (RIGS) GTIIT has established is committed to advancing the research at Guangdong Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) by providing administrative support to our faculty and students in all
aspects of their research activities. RIGS identifies and disseminates funding opportunities, manages internal research funding programs, and supports researchers in proposal preparation, submission, and regulations compliance.
RIGS facilitates the establishment of strategic partnerships with industry and promotes
innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer.
